The separation caused by the pandemic and “NY on Pause” could have easily stopped the Yoga Body Shop community. However, in a circumstance with no precedent, the Yoga Body Shop family embraced this challenge and opened new options to our community to “SHIFT”. Joining together online got us through, however nothing can compare to a physical, in-person connection. While online classes continue to be available, the Yoga Body Shop family is excited to welcome you back to the studio.
When considering your options to continue to grow your yoga practice, contemplate the following reasons to return to Yoga Body Shop in-studio with your fellow yogis:
- Connection to the Community
Yoga literally means “union” or connection. While the transformational journey is personal, it is inspiring and motivating to connect with others who are travelling their own path. When physically practicing together, we are a core of like-minded people interested in friendships, community, and the shared connection of not just physical fitness, but the human mind and soul.
- It is Habit Building
It is easy to find excuses not to practice at home or to speed through the session by shortening a few asanas. Attending a class regularly allows you to build healthier habits for your practice, and ultimately for life.
- Studio Environment
One of the most compelling reasons to practice yoga in the studio simply comes down to space. The tranquil setting in-studio versus the surroundings often available in a home environment can easily impact your end result. The studio at Yoga Body Shop is a state-of-the-art facility designed to help you expand your practice. We owned a yoga practice for six years prior to designing this facility. The current studio was designed from the ground up after years of both research and trial and error. The room décor is relaxing and will envelope your senses to allow you to focus on your work. The rooms are heated between 95 and 100 degrees, using the heat as a tool to deepen your physical presence. It would be difficult to recreate these conditions at home. When combined with the distractions often found in a home environment—kids, phones, and chores—there is no comparison.
- Feedback from Trained Instructors
The benefits of a yoga instructor’s experience and knowledge to help correct mistakes, and avoid possible injury, can be crucial for the developing yogi. The trained teachers at Yoga Body Shop continually move through the room guiding you from one pose to another while looking, listening, and giving you tools to expand your yoga experience. No matter your physical ability or depth of yoga knowledge, our instructors are ready to help you explore your potential.
As T.K.V. Desikachar has been quoted, “Yoga exists in the world because everything is linked.” As the area’s most innovative studio, Yoga Body Shop is proud to offer a state-of-the-art facility that allows our yogis to get powerful and be surrounded by the powerful energy of others. So, welcome back to the physical community! Join us in studio this week! We have a class for you!
YOUR SAFETY MATTERS: Please know that your safety and the safety of our yoga teachers is our priority! We have always kept our studio exceptionally clean and we will be using cleaning products approved and recommended by New York State. Yoga blocks, towels, straps, blankets and bolsters will not be provided so please be sure to bring your own. Showers will temporarily be closed for use. Both studio rooms have state of the art heating and cooling systems which have germ killing ultra-violet lights in the duct work and have circulated fresh air piped in from outside the building and blown into the yoga rooms. The large yoga rooms, with high ceilings, allow for adequate room and spacing for social distancing. Additionally, each room has a door to the outside which will be used to circulate more fresh air into the rooms between classes. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be provided throughout the studio. Lastly, class sizes have been set up to accommodate 6-feet spacing between yogis.
